About HomeHQ

Built in Vancouver, for our own families first.

We made HomeHQ because we couldn\'t find a calm family calendar that didn\'t want to sell us a $700 wall display or limit the calendar after a month. So we built one. Then we shipped it.

The why

The week kept falling apart at 6:45 PM.

Two kids, two jobs, one shared Google Calendar that nobody really checked. Sticky notes on the fridge. A whiteboard that was always a week behind. The pediatrician appointment that someone definitely told someone else about. The judo class that started fifteen minutes ago.

We looked for the right app. Skylight wanted us to buy a $379 touchscreen and a $79/year subscription. Hearth wanted $699 plus $9 a month. Cozi had added limits to its free tier. Google Calendar was free but didn\'t do meals, didn\'t do chores, didn\'t do kid views, and didn\'t do calm.

So we built the app we wanted. Built on Google Calendar, $12 a month billed annually, no hardware. The iPad in the kitchen, every phone in the house, and the calendar visible anywhere — because it\'s still your Google calendar underneath. The week stopped falling apart. We shipped it because it turned out we weren\'t the only ones.

What we believe

Four commitments. We mean these.

The four things we\'ve decided not to do — because the easy path on each is what makes most family apps feel exhausting.

01

No hardware required.

A dedicated $700 display is a beautiful object — but it's still $700. HomeHQ is a $12/month app — billed annually, or $14.99 month-to-month — that runs on the iPad and iPhone you already own. No screens, mounts, or stands to buy, and no affiliate kickbacks for recommending them.

02

One simple price.

We don't do a free tier that slowly takes features back — we saw how that eroded trust elsewhere in 2024. One price, everything included. And if we ever change pricing, current subscribers keep their original rate.

03

Built on Google Calendar.

HomeHQ runs on the Google Calendar your family already uses — two-way sync, so the kitchen iPad, every phone, the web, and even Android all show the same plan. The app itself is iPhone and iPad today; the calendar is yours, and it stays in your Google account.

04

No ads. We never sell your data.

Your calendar, chores, and meals sync through your Google account and our own secure backend so the family stays in sync across devices. We don't run ads, we don't sell or share your data, and we don't build advertising profiles. You can disconnect Google any time.

The team

A small team. A long horizon.

HomeHQ is built by a small team in Vancouver and online. We are bootstrapped, we have no investors to please, and we plan to be around for as long as your kids are. The roadmap is calm. The release cadence is calm. The pricing is calm. That\'s the point.
