Terms of service.

Last updated: 2026-05-15

By using HomeHQ\'s website or app, you agree to these terms. Subscriptions are handled by Apple under Apple\'s terms; this document covers what we owe each other beyond that.

Who we are

HomeHQ is a product made by a team based in Vancouver, Canada. References to "we", "us", or "HomeHQ" in this document mean the HomeHQ team and its operating entity.

The service

HomeHQ is an iPhone and iPad application for households — a shared calendar, meal planner, chore tracker, and lists app, with two-way Google Calendar and Google Tasks sync.

You sign in with Google. Your calendar and tasks stay in your Google account; your family setup (members, chores, meals, lists) is stored in our secure backend to keep your devices in sync.

Subscription and billing

HomeHQ is offered on two plans — $143.99/year (works out to $12/month) or $14.99/month — charged through your Apple ID after a 14-day free trial. Billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellation are governed by Apple\'s Terms of Service for the App Store. We do not handle or store payment information.

To cancel: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → HomeHQ → Cancel Subscription.

If we ever change pricing for new subscribers, existing subscribers stay at their original rate for as long as they remain subscribed without interruption.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) reverse-engineer the app or website; (b) use the service to violate any law; (c) attempt to harm other users or our infrastructure; (d) misrepresent your identity when contacting us.

We may suspend access without notice if we have a good-faith belief that you are violating these terms.

Your content

You own everything you enter into HomeHQ — events, recipes, chores, lists, family member names, photos. We store it only to run the service for your household; we claim no rights to it, never sell it, and you can delete it or disconnect Google at any time.

If you contact support and send us a screenshot, we treat that screenshot as confidential support material and delete it when the conversation is resolved.

Intellectual property

The HomeHQ name, logo, app, website, and design are owned by HomeHQ. You may link to us and reference us in good faith; please don\'t copy our marketing copy or recreate our app interface.

Third-party services

HomeHQ integrates with Google Calendar, school .ics calendars, and (planned) Outlook. Those services have their own terms and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or behaviour. If Google changes its API, our integration may need to change accordingly.

Warranty disclaimer

HomeHQ is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it running, accurate, and useful — but we don\'t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Don\'t rely on HomeHQ alone for life-critical scheduling (medication doses, medical appointments where a miss would cause harm) — use your phone\'s built-in reminders for those.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeHQ is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us in that period.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, statutory consumer protections in the EU).

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we will update the "last updated" date and, if you have given us your email, send you a notification. If you don\'t agree to the updated terms, cancel your subscription through Apple before the change takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Vancouver, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence.
