The short version

Settings holds the household name, family members, integrations, display and notifications.

Adding a person generates a join code you share with the share sheet.

Deleting your account is permanent and takes the household with it if you are the last one left.

Step by step

Family members

1

Add someone

Settings, Family members, Manage, then add them by email. They get a row on the dashboard, a colour and a join code straight away.

2

Share their code

Tap the share icon next to their name and send it however you like. You can reshare it as often as you need.

A person showing as Pending has not joined yet. Resharing the code is safe.
3

Set someone up as a parent or a child

The invite screen asks which one. Parents see the whole household; children see the family calendar but only their own chores.

You can change it later. Open their profile under Settings, Family members and switch the role there. Only a parent can, and someone has to stay a parent, so the last one cannot be demoted.

Kids and teens covers exactly what a child account can and cannot do.
4

Remove someone

Open their profile under Settings, Family members. It permanently removes their account and their access to the household.

Good to know

Household and integrations

The household name is editable at the top of Settings. Integrations shows what is connected to Google and lets you change which calendar the household uses. Changing the calendar changes it for everyone.

Wrong household entirely? "Join a different household" moves you with a new code.

Good to know

Food and allergies

Allergies that apply to the whole house are set once, at the household level, and are treated as life-threatening by anything that suggests food. Individual dietary styles and dislikes live on each person's profile.

Worth filling in now even though the meal planner is still being finished.

Good to know

Deleting your account

At the bottom of Settings, under Sign out. It deletes your sign-in, your access to the household and your chat history for good.

If you are the only person left in the household, everything in it goes too. It cannot be undone.

Common questions

Questions people ask.

Settings, Household, then edit the name. It applies to everyone.

Yes, as many as you like. Every parent sees everything.

Their assignments come off the board. Their historical points stay in the record.

Not yet. The Meals tab shows a coming soon note while we finish it. Dietary information you enter now will be used when it lands.

No. The calendar is yours in Google and stays there. HomeHQ just stops reading it.
