The short version

Add a chore, decide who it belongs to, and set how often it repeats.

A chore can belong to one person, several, a rotation, or to whoever gets to it first.

Points are recognition, not currency. There is no rewards catalogue and there never will be.

Step by step

Adding a chore

Open Add chore

From the speed dial on any tab, or from the Chores tab itself.

Say who it belongs to

One person, several people, a rotation that moves to the next person each time it is done, or nobody in particular.

Leaving it unassigned is fine. You pick who actually did it when it gets ticked off.

Set how often it repeats

Daily, weekly, or specific days. Specific days is the one you want for things like bins on Tuesday and Friday.

If you pick specific days, the plain repeat setting above is ignored.

Give it points, or do not

Points feed the leaderboard and streaks. Emptying the dishwasher and cleaning the garage do not have to be worth the same.

The two views

Overview is the parents' view: everyone's progress in one place, the leaderboard, and the activity feed. Tap a person to drop into just their chores.

The chips along the top switch between them. Kids are locked to their own chores and cannot see or tick off anyone else's.

Points, streaks and the weekly recap

Ticking a chore credits the person who actually did it, which matters for rotations and for anything left unassigned.

Streaks count consecutive days with chores completed. The leaderboard resets weekly so nobody is permanently behind.

There is a shareable weekly recap you can send to the family group chat. Points are for recognition. They do not convert into pocket money or prizes inside the app, and adding a rewards catalogue is a deliberate no.

Yes, that is the point. They can only see and complete their own.

It stays on the board as outstanding. Nothing is punished or deleted.

It moves to the next person in the list each time the chore is completed, so it self-corrects if someone does it twice in a row.

Yes. Open the chore and change who it is assigned to, or credit whoever did it when you tick it off.

To-dos sync with Google Tasks. Recurring household chores live in HomeHQ, since Google Tasks has no concept of whose turn it is.
