How the sync works
Your household picked one Google Calendar during setup. That calendar is the source of truth. HomeHQ reads from it and writes back to it, so an event added on your partner's laptop turns up in HomeHQ, and a chore you add on the iPad turns up in Google.
The app refreshes about every minute while you are using it, and every five minutes when it is sitting idle. Pull down to force it.
Everyone in the household is granted access to that calendar, so the choice only has to be made once.

Getting around
The dashboard shows today: what is next, who has what on, and how the chores are going.
Week view lays out each day as a full-width row rather than cramped columns, which is far easier to read across a room. Month view gives you the grid, and tapping a day opens the detail panel beside it.
Colours come from each family member, so you can tell at a glance whose afternoon is about to fall apart.
